Who needs to listen to her own advice?
I think I know who.
Believe in yourself is what you always say. You can tell everyone else this to believe it, but somehow it seems hard to believe in yourself.
Why do you have so little self-confidence? Didn’t you get to work in a busy downtown hospital ER soon after graduating? Yes, someone else got the position nine months before you but that was a blessing. You got your second choice which was to float to all the critical care areas as they needed you. In fact, this provided the experience you needed before you went to work in the ER.
You were very successful in several ER’s you worked in before you applied to the Poison Center. It seemed that everyone at the Poison Center was smarter than you, lots with a couple of degrees behind them. It took you a while to learn to play to your strengths. You were the one that could calm anyone down over the phone so that they could at least hear what you had to say. You were the one that could stand up and give talks to well-baby clinics, multicultural groups, and seniors without thinking about it twice. You were a natural talking with people.
Now you are retired and you want to write. You have written a murder mystery novel and have started to blog. You are scared again!
