Unicorn Farts.

There is something about cookies and squares that mean Christmas. I don’t mean everyday cookies like chocolate chips or peanut butter. I always would bake those types of cookies when school started.

I don’t do a lot of baking now, but once September comes along I still feel the need to do a few batches of those cookies. I think it is in remembrance of needing to celebrate the kids going back to school.

Don’t get me wrong I love a good cookie but at Christmas, it is time for a fun sweet.

A couple of years ago I found a guy online that had a few ideas about cookies and squares. They rarely take more than a few ingredients and look and taste great. Another bonus is that they frequently are no-bake desserts!

This year I wanted something that I could make for my granddaughters that they would especially like. Right now they are big into unicorns. Especially my 3-year-old granddaughter,

I don’t know if these dessert balls are done in the States (probably) but they are called Moose Farts in Newfoundland where they originated. They were invented by Rosie’s Restaurant and Bakery in Gander, Nfld. A town whose name you may recognize…
