This is such a bitter sweet story ... and so true. My mum died 8 years ago and the last 2 years she was in a dementia home. I was fortunate that both my sisters lived in the same city as mum and they took turns making sure my mum always had a family member with her for a few hours a day, every day. I lived a few hours away and would visit every month or so. I understand that bitter/sweet feeling. Thank you for a honest story.
