The Old Move It Or Lose It Is True. Especially as We Age.

Running or Walking, You Just Got to Do It!

I find the need to walk most days. When I haven’t walked, I feel like I’m missing something. Mostly I want to walk for about 40–60 minutes. This year in the Pacific Northwest we have had a ton of snow. This is not normal for us. Of course, you’re laughing if you reside in Chicago or Winnipeg where you really have a ton.

Here we can go out running or walking all year long. There may be one or two days that it is impossible to go out but mostly we are an all-weather sports area.

I am also a runner. A slow runner but a runner nonetheless. If you don’t go out in the rain here, you aren’t going to run very often. The rain is inconvenient but not a stumbling block to going outside. If it was, we’d be inside all winter long.

This year we have had snow on and off for several weeks before Christmas. Yes, it comes and goes, but it is icy and that is the one time that I don’t run.

Consequently, I haven’t run my 3xweek on a regular basis since the snow first arrived in December. Getting back to my regular routine won’t be easy.

Getting Ready

If you are young, well, you just pick up where you left off. Take it easy for a week and BAM
