Thank you for an inciteful and beautiful article. It made me remember a moment 40 years ago just before my first son was born. At the last moment we needed a c-section. My husband had previously said he couldn't be in an operating room as he would pass out. When the decision was made to have the c-section he stepped up and accompanied me there. He sat beside me, I was lying on the stretcher and just before they started the surgery, I thought to myself, this is the day my life changes forever and I have this man, the right man, with me.

I have never forgotten that moment and the peace and strength it gave me. I am so glad I stopped and paid attention.
