Taking Your Time
It’s up to you.
My husband and I had planned to go on a cruise to the Mediterranean this fall. We saved and were really looking forward to this trip. Well, we all know how that worked out!
We live close to Vancouver B.C. We are a 10-minute drive to the Peace Arch border to Washington state in the US. Pre-COVID we would have taken a driving holiday down to the Oregan coast if we couldn’t have had the cruise. That was out as well.
We have three sons. One is currently living with us due to the loss of his job in the gas and oil industry in Alberta. One lives close by with a wife and two daughters. Due to health issues, we are seeing them via FaceTime and garden or driveway visits, not ideal but better than not seeing them. We also have a son and his wife in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This is our youngest and we usually see him once a year. We talk on the phone but it is not the same as seeing him.
Our province has been flattening the curve and we are now allowed to drive around western Canada. We decided to drive out to see the youngest, four provinces over. They had a week’s holiday starting at the beginning of August. It would normally take us about 3 - 4 days if we just drove each day and then stopped at a motel on the way.
