From a 1981 Jeep Wagoneer to a 2022 Mazda CX5 Signature
A few months ago I turned 70 years old. I find it hard to believe that I could be 70. It took me a decade to believe I was in my 60s so I guess the same process is going on now.
Cars over the years.
For the last decade or so I have leased my car. My husband has always leased his cars while in business and was able to write them off. When we were first married, we both had cars and we kept them for a very long time.
The first family car we had was a Jeep Wagoneer. I loved it. It allowed me to sit up higher than most cars and because it was built on a truck frame I felt safer.
We bought it a couple of weeks before I gave birth to my first son. I did drive it home, but the steering wheel was so tight against my abdomen that I could no longer steer the car until after my son was born.
I brought all three sons home from the hospital in that car and all three sons got their driver’s licenses using that car. It was a great family vehicle but after 21 years and over 240,000 miles, it was time to say goodbye. Past time.
