Shannon, I am so sorry that you are going through this. What is important is that you are doing what is right for your daughter. Your mother gave up her right to be looked after with care and love by her years of abuse. You only need to do what you feel is right for you. It is easy for an outsider to see the manipulation she is still trying to work on you.

Remember, you need to look after yourself before you can look after others. Your daughter has to be number one and everybody else after that. You only have so much time and energy and you have to be careful how you hand that out.

Family can be such an emotional landmine. You are going in the right direction so carry on. Best of luck to you.
