I have to say I love hearing about busy active seniors. I am one, so it is nice to hear about others. People always say, how can you do all this. I think it’s because I like being busy.

Not cleaning the house busy, but actually being busy doing things. Now, not all the things I do are fun but I find that as long as it is not too boring and I’m doing things with someone then I’m good.

My mum was a busy person. She set a good example and I’m really like my mum in this way. She was doing something all day long.

My mum would start her day early. She always said, “What the heck was the matter with people, sleeping their day away.” She had already done more before nine am than most seniors did all day.

Books

My mother read more books than you can imagine. She had such an imagination and a quest for knowledge. She usually tucked a Harlequin romance in her purse because it was easy to carry. She said that she learned about so many different lands and customs and she loved a little bit of romance.

She enjoyed Georgette Heyer for the Regency historical romances. She would get lost in those stories
