In Times of Crisis, We All Need to Step Up to The Plate.
.We can be thankful to offer help and not need to receive it.
There are floods in BC right now. I have never been in a disaster area. I have never been close to one before. Now less than an hour away is massive flooding.
Starting on Saturday this past week it rained continuously for 3 days. Now you might say, Hello, you guys are in the Pacific North West. You would be right and yes it does rain a lot out here. But normally it just rains as usual. It stops and starts and just continues a lot.
We have lots of breaks where the sun comes out and dries everything up before it starts raining again. From October until May it rains on and off. We discuss the fact that we haven’t had rain if we have a bit of sunshine during that time.
Ask Orrin Onkin about the rain. I am here in BC just across the American border, but it isn’t any different in any of the towns down towards Seattle and further. It is a matter of pride that he rarely uses an umbrella.
Truth is, I don’t use them either. Rain is just there and the umbrellas are for those from outside the area. It’s a status thing to say you don’t use umbrellas out here.
