I got up this morning and took an hour to catch up on enjoyable reading. I have been saving my Crow's Feet and it is a beautiful, sunny, and bird songed morning in Vancouver BC.
I too am an athlete and try to do half marathons about every 2 years. When I say I am going to a half marathon people usually say which of my sons is running. None do. I am 69 and after retiring I started to learn to write. Covid had other ideas. I was asked to come back to work, so now I work half time as a contact tracer. I was just enjoying my retirement and the starting of a new career as a writer.
The upside of working, besides the money, is that I work with young people . Some could almost be my grandchildren! They inspire me and give me hope for the future. They love my experience and the confidence I have (I should have that after >45 years). I love there ability to show me how to work the damn computer. We both have laughter and respect. This is what I wanted in retirement and old age and it is funny that I had to go back to work to find that. I will carry it forward.
