Getting started

First off, that is not me in the picture. I am about 30 years older than her. Actually, in my head, I’m a lot closer to her age. But that’s the thing with being older. I permit myself to be whatever age I choose.

I always say we lose our vision as we age because God knows we don’t want to see ourselves as we are in that mirror.

What’s that got to do with writing 50,000 words in November?

First off, I came to writing late in the game. I started off taking classes with NinjaWriters 2018 and published my first blog post on July 5, 2019. I only took one year of university English classes.

I knew I wanted to write a cozy mystery ever since, while running, I had a great bit of conversation I thought would fit into it. It took quite a few years to write the first novel. I still haven’t put that conversation in the book.

I’m writing the second cozy mystery in that series and am three-quarters done in less than half the time the first one took to write.

I have a non-fiction book mostly completed. I felt proud of myself, but that has taken me four and a half years to do…
