Homemade Pasta — Yes You Too Can Make It.

This is so easy even I can make this with 5 ingredients!

If you asked what is the one food that you couldn’t give up, lots of women would say chocolate, but I wouldn’t. I would say pasta. I could eat it every day.

I am short and my background has a lot of stocky relatives. That is the way they look in the south of Italy. Calabria to be exact.

Apparently, I look like the typical Calabrian woman. So pasta each day is out of my reach. If I am going to have pasta it better be good.

Family Tradition

My mum was an English Canadian and she made the best pasta ever. Of course, she didn’t have a pasta maker or a pasta machine to cut it up. So while we had spaghetti and meatballs every Monday night, the sauce and the meatballs were homemade but the spaghetti was from a bag. The homemade pasta was reserved for Christmas Eve.

Christmas dinner was a traditional meal with turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, root vegetables, gravy, and lots of pies with whipped cream.

Christmas Eve was an Italian meal with homemade pasta, sauce, meatballs, fried chicken, salads, olives, and bread. Dessert was more pies that my mum would make. Since we were not Catholic we didn’t eat fish.
