Hi Todd. Thank you for this article. I think there are a lot of us ‘nice guys’ out there. It has taken me a lifetime of experience to figure out how to deal with being a nice guy. A lot of us were simply taught to be this way, but some are simply this way through personality. I learned that for me to not be taken advantage of I needed to stay away from certain people. I couldn’t win any arguments with them, whether I was right or wrong and ended up sorry I engaged. My mother used to say that the only thing you end up with when you hit a stone wall is a sore head. She said I had to figure a way to go around that wall to get what I wanted. Having people in your life that help you certainly makes that one way to deal with this! So glad you have a partner with you!
