I also have a cleaning lady and I am retired. I get quite a few ‘looks’ when people find this out. I totally get the preclean clean but actually, I never clean for them. I just organize so that when they have cleaned, everything looks nice. It forces me to go through the junk drawers, pick up things off the counters so they can properly clean it, and put things where they belong. I don’t want them to pick up junk, clean below it and then put back my junk. I want to come home and feel great walking into a clean house. I try to buy flowers on that day.

The frantic cleanup on the night before is worth it as I get a lot of stuff done quickly.

Do not let anyone guilt you into not having a cleaner. It’s worth it and so are you!
