Happy Halloween with Bloody Witches Fingers for all.
Who doesn't like bloody fingers?
We moved to North Vancouver which is in the mountains above and across the water from Vancouver. The home, where we raised our three sons, was in a huge cul de sac. It was perfect for kids. They were everywhere and everybody kept an eye on them.
One of my favorite holidays with the kids was Halloween. It didn’t matter if it rained or not, we had fun. There were always parties at school but the real fun began once they arrived home.
Shortly after I moved in we were invited to the Halloween Block party. Two mothers ran it for a few years before they passed it on to another couple of mums.
Soon it was my turn with my neighbor Monique. I loved doing this. The party consisted of two parts. First, when the kids had returned home from trick or treating, we had hot chocolate, cookies, cheezies, and chips. The adults had mulled wine and the same goodies. We all mingled and laughed and just generally had a good time.
The second part was the dads organizing a fireworks display. So exciting for everyone. The little kids had sparklers and the bigger kids could help pick out which big explosion came next.
