Great article Leanne. As an old runner that still runs 3 x week for an hour and does a slow half marathon I don't think I could be doing this if I wasn't a slow runner. Mostly I do this for my mental health.
Once somebody told me they had only heard me say I ran but hadn't actually seen me do the running. That from a couch potato. I told him when I was running next and said he was welcome to come run with me. Never saw him the next morning.
Continue to enjoy your running and remember you are doing it for you.
