I slept in a little this morning. You know, I have been retired for almost four years and I still get up around six or six-thirty most mornings without an alarm.

I like to be up in the morning. It is my time to ruminate about life, about what I want to accomplish with the time I have left on this earth. It allows me to be honest with myself. This morning I was thinking about a friend of mine.

I had taken a night school class called How to finish your book. Hah! At the time I had written exactly nothing, nada, zilch! But I had an idea for a story about a murder mystery.

It was based on a conversation I had in my head while running. I, of course, was the heroine up against some gangsters. This allowed me to finish up my run without thinking how out of breath I was.

Honestly, I didn’t get very far with the premise of this story. It changed many times and I took a very long time to settle on how I wanted this to go. Starting to write when you are 60 years of age means you have a lot of catching up to do.
