One of the great things about where I live is that we have a very vibrant social committee. Of course, I am on that committee. I love that kind of thing.

Last Saturday we started back with our first event since Covid. We decided we’d start small and had our coffee morning for the complex. Pre-Covid we would set up coffee and anyone that wanted to would bring goodies. If you didn’t bring anything then you would put a toonie ($2) in a little pot. It would last up to an hour and a half. You could just pop in for 20 minutes or stay the whole time. It was the first Saturday of each month. It was a nice way to drop in on the neighbors you might not have had time to see recently.

This was very well attended until it was suspended due to Covid. While I don’t live in a senior community and the rule is no one under 19 years old can live here, it might as well be a senior’s place.

The week before my husband and I moved in here, we attended a coffee morning. We were introduced as the newbies and warmly welcomed.

Our first attendance was a rather busy day as they were celebrating one couple’s 65 anniversary. There was a beautiful cake for them. It allowed us to meet a lot of the people…
