Confidence — You Either Got it or You Don’t!
Here is my story.
I have always been involved in my children’s lives. When they were in elementary school I would listen and help children read. I was a helper for hot dog day each month. Heck, I even was the lice checker for each class of children.
Now that was a fun job and was due to my working in a busy Emergency Ward of the downtown eastside of a big city. You don’t see it so often in adults anymore but delousing was a familiar job for the junior nurse back then.
Working in an area where there were a lot of blond-haired children, delousing was not easy!
When my kids were in Grade six we were fortunate to put them in a private school. I felt if I put my children into a sport or another school then I should volunteer to help out. Private school was no exception.
Like any group of people, you will find those that are a treat to work with and those that aren’t. The parent group at the private school was very different than the public elementary school. For one thing, they were involved in money raising for the school. I’m talking big money.
The majority of the money was raised through the Fall Gala. I learned so much from this group. One of the biggest things that I learned was that no one will give you anything if you don’t ask…
