Alison I totally connected with your thoughts. Before I left my work >2 years ago I had a similar meeting. We were sent to learn about being kind and accepting of any trans workers. I was so insulted. I told them that I learned to be accepting and kind to anyone I spoke with when my mother taught me as a child. I told them that I was never condescending in word or deed and I did not plan to start then and I resented being told I needed to be taught basic kindness and decency. They basically ignored my thoughts and said it was just a mandatory class.
